Comments: Great website!!! I saw the Lamb tour back in '75 at the Shrine and then was able to see the Musical Box do it in Whittier , California. It was as good if not BETTER Than the original. They are truly an amazing cover band, and since we will probably never see the original boys together again, the Musical Box is the next best thing. They pull it off quite well!!! Comments: Interested in looking at the programmes. If you don't already know, "programme" is the correct UK spelling. However, we concede to US spelling when referring to computer software ("program").

Are you an American site?

I'm fairly sure that any programme from the early 70s (regardless of the bands involved) that says "Show Souvenir" or similar is an unofficial bootleg. These were usually sold outside the concert halls/clubs by unathorised vendors and I doubt if the band/promoters saw any of the money! I've got a similar design programme for Led Zep which I bought outside the venue I saw them at in '71.

Saw Genesis twice - in Preston on the Lindisfarne/Noakes/Genesis bill and in Manchester with String Driven Thing(?). I believe the latter was the concert that formed part of the first Charisma Live Album, although I much preferred them when they were still 'unknowns' in Preston!

Comments: I saw Peter's show in Long Beach in the early 80s. I noticed that in the first show he walked through the crowd, went up to several levels and shook hands with fans....so I went the very next night and was waiting for him on the upper level, he was shaking everyones hands and when he came to me he passed me up....realizing that he missed me he then turned around quickly took 3-4 steps back and shook my hand. All the while singing HumDrum I think...I missed the Growing UP Live Shows but have the Music DVD and it is fantastic. He opens the show with a harder edged version of Here Comes the Flood that will send chills down your spine. Also listen for Mercy Street another chilling example of why Peter is a genius.

On April 6th 1973 (I was 3 years old), Genesis played at Le Grand Theatre de Quebec in Quebec City, Canada. Last week I went there to see a group called The Musical Box (www.themusicalbox.net) which is very good band who plays Genesis music very well with all the scenery and costumes. They played The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and it was marvelous. If you have the chance to see them, don't miss !!!

Flew to London with future wife in fall of  '73 from San Francisco to see shows, one of which was Genesis at Oxford New Theatre (SEBTP tour). Got passes from Charisma, and was driven from Central London to attend show. Met the band backstage. Ron Geesin opened the show. Had to stand for the concert as there were no more seats available. Got at the show the Compendium (it's complete) and the Chris Biggs compilation. Saw Genesis at Winterland on 3/24/74 (that's another whole story!) and the Shrine Lamb show in L.A. If you want more details, let me know.. Got a so-so copy of the DVD concert done in Oxford by Tony Stratten Smith. What's was the story behind it? Why wasn't it officially released? Thanks - Steve

What better Starship, Tom Petty & Genesis a great time was had by all. I remember the mass stampeed at the end of the evening to get out. Most of us went via the gents loos after the wall and urinal were broken down. What an end to a great day. It was also good to here the live concert as well. I was born in 1975,but I started hearing about Genesis in the 80's lead by Phil Collins,but I became aware of early Genesis by first hearing Peter Gabriel when he did "Sledgehammer". I heard about him being a part of early Genesis. When I heard their recordings, I got hooked on their sound. I started purchasing early Genesis. I like listening to Peter Gabriel Genesis better. The 80's Genesis was too commercial for me.

I'm 40 years old and fan of Geneisi sinds 1974 till the leaving of Collins (I tried to listen and enjoy the last album "Calling ...", I even went to the concert, but there was something and someone missing). I am the owner of severall tickets from the Belgian, Dutch and Frensh concerts, some unique T-Shirts and pictures, just leave a message and i'll send you some 300dpi scans of those. I also got a friend who in 1977 filmed (thats his job, cameraman) a Genesis concert in England, but no way of finding the film. There also exsists an "underground" movie of "the lamb lies down on Broadway" and ones again, no way to find that one too. How to proceed to find these ? Anyway, you might be proud of your work. It is, however, a shame that there isn't more coverage of later period Genesis.
