Selling England by the Pound Variations

Rare Selling England by the Pound Greek test pressing. It is uncertain how official the Greek test pressings are, but they are certainly hard to find and very collectable.

Very rare mispressing. Although mispressings are not uncommon, they are typically on the vinyl or label. Gross cover mispressings such as this are very uncommon.

The Portugese Selling England by the Pound 1974 limited edition of 5000 issued to members of the Portugese Musical Congress. Despite the seemingly large edition (compared to many records and bootlegs with releases of only 500 or 1000) this edition is quite difficult to find. It is the only Genesis album on the Pergola label 2091.

Approximate Value: $100-$150
Since the cardboard cover is so thin, excellent quality covers are near-impossible to find.

Very rare first Japanese pressing RJ-5116 from 1974 on Charisma with red Rock Impact OBI.
Rare Japanese pressing RJ-7032 from 1975 with OBI and insert. Same red OBI as other Japanese Genesis LPs from 1975.

Also released in Japan in 1977 (RJ-7304) with an orange or purple OBI. Late releases from 1983 (20-PP-69) & 1986 (25VB-1098) have a different thin OBI. The thin red OBI is sometimes attached to one of the other OBIs used as a tour promotion, available in limited numbers.

It is possible to use these catalog numbers to tell the approximate time of release, but they are actually price codes. The RJ-7 originally sold for 2,500 Yen, the 20- sold for 2,000 Yen, etc.
